"Bubble of Love" (3:20) (Work track) Copyright 2009 by Bob McKillop, Mondegreen Music (ASCAP) and Jeff Trippe, Silent E Publishing (BMI) Vocals, guitar, and mandolin: Jeff Trippe Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Marc Bartholomew, Acadia Recording Company, Portland, Maine The hook to this song came to me, as so many do, in a conversation. I pictured a person who was using the euphoria of love as an escape and a sanctuary from a world that was falling apart around him. What happens when the bubble bursts? Thanks so much to Jeff Trippe for setting my lyrics to such a great melody and harmony arrangement! |

"Lionel Locomotive" (2:41) (Work track) Copyright 1994 by Bob McKillop, Mondegreen Music (ASCAP) Vocals: Bob McKillop Guitar: Pete Morse Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Pete Morse, Busted Barn Studios, Portland, Maine This is a song that I wrote long ago for my family, under the title "Big Blue Diesel", and that I re-wrote in 2011. It's about the wonderful Christmas village and train layout that my Dad would always create for us when we were very young. He was a master at this, and it became family legend. That village was always so comforting, and it seemed like the perfect little world, where I could feel safe and secure. My dad is no longer with us, but the memories of his Christmas creation lives on in the family. |
